On May 30 – June 1, 2008 Rome hosted Made In Italy – Hair Restoration Live Video Surgery Workshop organized by Italian Society of Hair Restoration under the auspice of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. For a few days Rome became a meeting place of the most prominent surgeons specializing in hair restoration surgery. This year’s workshop concentrated mainly on the practical aspect of this surgical procedure. Spacious operating theaters of the Instituto Dermopatico Dell’Immacolata were the places where live demonstration surgeries took place every day. The participants could observe the procedure during a live tv-transmission and by visiting personally particular operating theaters. Dr Jerzy Kolasiński was one of the operating surgeons, who together with his team, namely Mariola Reszke and Hanna Perz-Rodykow, conducted a surgery of hair restoration in a young patient who underwent two unsuccessful hair transplantation surgeries earlier. The operating technique presented by the Kolasinski Clinic Team aroused a huge interest among the workshop participants.
The workshop itself also provided a great opportunity to socialize with the doctors coming from all over the world since the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery is like one big family sharing both common interests in hair restoration surgeries as well as affinity between the Society members. Thus, the fact that Rome, the Eternal City, is the best spot to organize this type of meetings is unquestionable.
